Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Auslearn mobile application ("App") operated by Auslearn ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility and Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you are 13 or older. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Accounts

2.1 Registered Accounts

You may create a free account using your email address. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2.2 Guest Accounts

You may use the App as a guest without creating an account. Guest progress is saved to your device and our servers using a randomly generated identifier. Guest accounts have limited features — you cannot sync progress across devices or earn certain achievements.

2.3 Account Responsibility

You agree not to share your account credentials with others. You must notify us immediately at support@auslearn.org if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Free and Premium Tiers

The App offers a free tier with access to introductory content, and a premium subscription ("Auslearn Pro") that unlocks all lessons and features.

3.2 Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscription management, billing, and purchase history are handled via RevenueCat. By subscribing, you also agree to the payment terms of the relevant app store.

3.3 Pricing

Current subscription pricing is displayed in the App before purchase. Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless your regional store displays otherwise.

3.4 Renewals and Cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. To cancel, manage your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

3.5 Refunds

Refunds are subject to the refund policy of Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not process refunds directly. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact the relevant app store.

3.6 Free Trials

If a free trial is offered, it begins immediately upon subscription. You will be charged at the applicable rate when the trial ends unless you cancel before that date.

4. Intellectual Property

The App and all its content — including lessons, videos, graphics, signs, text, and software — are owned by or licensed to Auslearn and are protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any App content without our written permission.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the App
  • Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or infringing content
  • Interfere with the operation or integrity of the App or its servers

6. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, abused the App, or engaged in fraudulent activity. You may delete your own account at any time via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. The Auslan content in the App is intended for educational purposes and may not reflect all regional variations of Auslan.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, Auslearn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data or progress. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be addressed by contacting us at support@auslearn.org. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the courts of Queensland, Australia.

10. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
